Mode of Entry-

1. Incline
2. Shaft
3. Adit

Advantages of Underground Mining-

1.Ground Vibration is low.
2.Work not affected by weather.
3.No need of overburden removal.
4.Less danger of fly rock.
5.No destruction of forest is needed.
6.Ecosystem is not disturbed.
7.It can be applicable for Higher depth.
8.The soil and Agriculture land is destroyed in open cast mining but not in case of Underground mining.
9.Cost of explosives is high compare to Open cast mining.
10.Safely working near the permanent structure by the help of stowing.

Disadvantages of Underground Mining-

1.Production is limited in underground mining.
2.Safety is less compare to Opencast Mining.
3.Percentage of extraction is less compare to Opencast Mining.
4.Mechanization is limited.
5.Working area is limited.
6.Long Gestation period.
7.Overall cost of production is high.
8.Danger of roof fall, gas explosion, Subsidence, etc.
