Classification of methods of Stoping methods-

A. Naturally supported stopes -

1.Open Stoping

             a) Open stope in small ore body.
             b) Sublevel Stoping
             c) Long Hole Stoping

2.Open Stopes with pillar supports-

             a) Casual Pillar method.
             b) Room and pillar method

B. Artificially supported stopes -

1. Shrinkage Stoping

             a) With Pillar
             b) without Pillar
             c) With Subsequent waste filling

2. Cut and Fill Stoping.

3. Stulled Stopes in narrow veins.

4. Square Set Stoping

C. Caved Stopes -

1. Caving (Ore broken by induced caving/blasting)

              a) Block caving - caving is done by providing undercut in buttom of ore block.
              b) Sublevel Caving Stoping.

2. Top Slicing ( Stoping under a wire mat)

D. Combination of supported and caved stopes.
(e.i. Shrinkage stoping with pillar caving, Cut and Fill stoping with pillar caving, etc )
