By -

Slurry Explosive -

it is a mixture of super saturated aquas salt solution (mainly ammonium Nitrate or Sodium Nitrate) & water (15%). This chemical mixture is thickened with guar-gum and cross linked. This enables to prevent leaching of the soluble oxidizing salts by the presence of water in the blasthole. This make slurries or water-gel excellent. The most commonly used fuel sensitizers are carbonaceous fuels, ammonium, TNT, and smoke less powder. These fuel sensitizers indentity the types of slurries as aluminized slurry, TNT slurry and smokeless powder slurry. Excess sensitizer also causes an oxygen deficiency in the mixture.
